Surf Camp

Emma went to Surf Camp last summer in North Carolina, and they took some awesome pictures of her. I'd been meaning to post 'em. Enjoy.

They just really captured her personality amazingly well. Those smiles are WONDERFUL. The one in the hat was my wallpaper on my work monitors for the longest time. That one sums that kid up more than any pic I've ever seen.

Well, after intense, and sometimes acrimonious negotiations, the boss finally agreed to some belly shots. Needless to say, she wanted them to be "respectable". I was hoping for something a bit more "trailer". Clearly, she's a better negotiator than I am as you can see below:

Furni / Doggie Love / Wright State?

Well, I'm sitting here watching my alma mater on TV tonight. Wright State's up by two on Butler at halftime. I'm in shock. Could my beloved Raiders make it to the dance for the second time ever? Time will tell.

The first big piece of furniture for Colin's room arrived this past Friday. Kasi drove all over town to find this rocker, and when she finally brought it home she was happier than I've ever seen a fully grown human. It is a flat-out killer rocker, tho . . .

It's going to go perfectly with the rest of the OSU gear we've got, and are planning to get. Here are a couple with the boss in her chair. These qualify as belly shots, from what she's telling me. The belly shots have to be "respectable". Clearly she just doesnt' get it . . .

Holy Crap. Wright State 60, Butler 55. Wright Freakin' State is going back to the dance. Awesome game. Dashaun Wood is the man. Hopefully, they won't be crushed in the first round like they were back in '92 . . . "Dollar" Bill Edwards, anyone? (cue sounds of crickets . . .)

Consider me on the bandwagon.

It's HOCKEY Cold!

Winter continues unabated. School was closed three days last week. It got so bad that our Canes flag froze solid. SOLID. Here are a few shots to give you an idea of what I'm talking about.

PS - T, on the flag - we roll OSU half the year and Canes half the year. As soon as the playoffs are over, we'll be back to OSU through the bowl game. :-)

Winter in Ohio / More Olive

We've had the first real winter here in quite a few years. Emma and I made this snowman a few weeks back, before we got this latest heavy snow.

Olive Love / Plug for NHL Center Ice

You know, between the cold and 7" of snow we have outside, Ms. Queen Bee is in a bit of a funk right now. Every night when I take her out, she registers her indignation by giving me a "you've got to be kidding me" look before tromping out into the snow to tinkle. Getting her paws wet is bad enough, getting SNOW ON THEM?? "THE HORROR". Short of it is, I've not been able to get a good shot of her lately, so here's a not particularly good one from around Christmas.

One other thing that came to mind: NHL Center Ice is one of the greatest purchases I've ever made. I get hockey seven days a week. I see just about every Canes game.

Though they've been slumping as of late, the past two games have been a joy to watch. Tuesday, saw 'em play the Habs in French. (But technically, my understanding is that French Canadian is not as bad as French French, so, I guess that doesn't reflect as bad on me.) They won 2-1, and Kaberle got a goal in his first game of the season, JOY.

Tonight, from the perch of my eliptical (one hour a night, right after work), got to see Ray Witney register a natural hat trick in a 5-2 win over Boston.

Anyway, I never have to watch crummy television again, and I can't tell you how happy that makes me.

Emma / Buttercup

Not much new to report. Mom's doing well, albeit a bit tired of late. Colin continues to grow. As soon as I can get Mary to agree to some belly shots, I'll post 'em. Meanwhile, enjoy Emma being "teh kewl", and Buttercup enjoying something to the left.
