PS, Michigan sucks . . .

HA HA

Sorry, couldn't resist!

Tuesday Camera Dump / June & Yonk's 60th

As I mentioned last week, we travelled to Morgantown over the holiday weekend, for Yonk & June's 60th wedding anniversary. Colin was amazing with the travelling - he nearly slept the entire way there (~5 hours) Friday night, and while awake on Monday for the return trip, he hardly put up a fuss at all.

He got to meet or see Johnny, Robyn, Adam, Ryan, Sonny, Esther, Jason, Michael, Meghan, Amy, Kasi, Judy, George, Yonk and June. He was on sensory overload, and was held and snuggled and kissed by so many people, he didn't know what to do. Great time had by all.

'course, Saturday was a truly joyous day, what with the beginning of the College Football season, an OSU victory and a humiliating loss for that team up north, 'nall. Anyway, here's a few of the shots we got.

Jr with Grandma:
Love this picture:
Face to face with Auntie Robyn:
Face to face with cousin Kasi:
Comparin' 'doos with cousin Ryan:
Always the splendid host, Robyn fed us entirely too well.
That's cousin Adam sportin' the WVU t-shirt. He left the WVU / WMU tilt in the first quarter to come to the shindig. We determined over the weekend that Colin is almost exactly like Adam, not just in comparing baby pictures, but they both eat every two hours and love to sleep as much as humanly possible.
Yonk is unwrapping the present everyone chipped in for - a new PC. colinferrigan.blogspot.com is fixin' to get even MORE regular traffic. Sweetloaf.
Megan explains all the superawesome stuff you can do with a computer.
I don't mean to brag, but I DID pick out that lovely wrapping paper . . . the bows and ribbon even matched.
So we have, l to r, June, Michael, Meghan, Amy, Johnny, and Robyn.
Further explaining turbosuperawesomeness.
Happy 60th Anniversary. May we all be so lucky.
Michael abides.

Friday NotSleepblogging, NotRandom11, etc

Well, I failed to get a picture of Jr. sleeping this week. So we're NotSleepblogging this week, sadly.

As for the Friday Random 11, a mixed bag this week. You see, last night I decided to have a few beers, and my tendency is to crank up the tuneage when I do this. Mommy'd had enough, and disappeared my iPod. Methinks this was dual-purposed - one to QUIET ME DOWN, and two to hopefully prevent her favorite feature - Friday Random 11. Little does she know that there are ways of getting around this . . . so, without further adieu, FRIDAY RANDOM 11:

  1. "Vinyl Records" - Todd Snider
  2. "Misery Loves Company" - Anthrax
  3. "Let's Go Get Stoned" - Joe Cocker
  4. "First Aid" - Subhumans
  5. "During a City" - Rollins Band
  6. "23 Beats Off" - Fugazi
  7. "Observer - Gary Numan
  8. "Pirate's Life" - The Vandals
  9. "Jealous Again" - Black Flag
  10. "Shut Up" - Madness
  11. "Baby Got Back" - Sir Mix-A-Lot

Wow - that's an odd grouping. Love the end, tho . . .

Anyway, Jr's taking his first ever road trip tonight, as we head out to West By God Virginia for Yonk and June's 60th Wedding Anniversary celebration. Pictures to come at the end of the weekend. GO BUCKS!!!!!!!!!! (Tho, to be honest, playing Youngstown State shouldn't present much of a challenge . . .)

Everyone be safe, and play nice.

Two Greatest Days Of The Year

There are two days of the year that are omni-important: The beginning of college football and the beginning of the NHL season.

Tonight is the beginning of the college football season, praise the Flying Spaghetti Monster!!!!!

Soon, the NHL season will begin, and we'll be in full scale bliss. . . .

BUMBO!!!!!!

So Colin's latest 'toy' is the Bumbo. It's designed to help a pre-sitter become a full fledged sitter.

He's lukewarm on it, but likes it better than that gawd-awful European carrier that Mommy forces him into against his wishes.
Here he is not only in his new OSU onesie, but with wrist rattles as well . . .

Sleepblogging, Traffic > U2, Bellytime, Random11

Well, after a one week hiatus, not to mention a massive hue and cry from the greater blogosphere, we're back with that regular Friday feature:

TEH SLEEPBLOGGING!!!!

I have to say, hovering over a bright-eyed and busheytailed infant with a camera at 5:30 in the AM, saying "GO TO SLEEP" tends to make one feel like an idiot, but, as they say, "anything for my public." Colin eventually agreed to comply after about ten minutes this morning.

It was with the help of that wonderful, hairy band, Traffic. I'm always trying new tunes on the boy to get an idea of what he likes and doesn't like. This morning I tried some old U2, and he was lukewarm to it. Then I put on "Empty Pages" by Traffic, and he went nuts. LOVES IT. Clearly, the boy is going to have good musical taste, regardless of all the Jewel nonsense mommy's going to try on him. So far we've established his favorites: Ladysmith Black Mambazo, 16 Horsepower, and Traffic. I believe we'll be ready to move on to Iron Maiden in the next week or so . . .

Also this week, he's really begun to want to hold that head up, as well as want to sit up. Managed to capture the headholdingup, not the sitting:

Gotta love the drool.

Finally, Mary's favorite Friday ritual, the Random 11. Let's see if we're going to be respectable or not this week:

  1. "Dexterity' - John Coltrane
  2. "O'er the Town of Pedro" - fIREHOSE
  3. "Never Say Never" - Overkill
  4. "Where Does Your Body Begin?" - Michael Gira
  5. "The Bars" - Black Flag
  6. "Loose Caboose" - Henry Mancini
  7. "Disciple" - Slayer
  8. "Bad Attitude" - Articles of Faith
  9. "Moth" - Audioslave
  10. "Rip It Out" - Ace Frehley
  11. "Shy" - Peter Murphy

Well, a mixed bag this week. Certainly eclectic, if not downright schizophrenic . . .until next week . . . seeyouse!

Late Tuesday Camera Dump

Sorry, now that Mary and I are both back to work, we're busier than ever. Y'all know the drill - get up early, scramble to get everyone ready and out the door, run to work, scramble back to pick up the boy, get home and make dinner, then get ready for tomorrow. Rinse 'n repeat. Sorry if it's a lame excuse, but that's the reason for the light posting lately.

That, and I actually went a week without taking a picture of Jr. sleeping, so there was no way to do Sleepblogging last week. Clearly, this could mean a cooling trend in this heretofore white hot Intertubez trend. That, and no Random 11, which really made Mary very sad - it's her favorite feature of the site.

A few developments to report - first, Colin had his second doctor's appointment last Friday. 15.4 lbs, 25 1/2" long - both 99th percentile. He also got his first round of inoculations, which meant four shots, two in each thigh. Mary, conveniently, had to 'return to work', so I had to be the big meanie that held Jr. down for these shots. Secondly, Jr. can now roll over from his stomach to his back (pictured below) - so he'll be crawling soon! Anyway, on with the pix.

These first two are a few 'smiles' I got lately
Here he is with Yonk. He's very nearly sitting up on his own. He no longer likes to lie down - wants to sit up and see what's going on.
Mary made me buy this "European harness device". While the look on Jr's face may seem ambivalent, he really does not like this thing, and on the inside is screaming "MOMMY, GET ME OUT OF THIS RIDICULOUS CONTRAPTION!!!!!" Or something thereabouts.
A budding young Jackets fan in his Exersaucer.
Finally, here he is before rolling over:
... and after. (HE STUCK THAT LANDING!!!!!)
OK, I'll try to do more frequent, and get back to traditional Friday Sleepblogging and Random 11 this week.
