Overdue for another post blogging

Overdue yet again, Sports Fans. Apologies. Between an OSU loss, Colin getting his first cold, and the new job - I've just not been able to get to the blog like I'd hoped. Plus, Colin just turned five moths, so I'm totally falling down on the job.

Here are a few of the shots we took on the five month day. Clearly, we're done trying to flatter the boy, and showing you the real Colin. Getting your arm stuck in the Jumperoo is not nearly the dilemma one would think.
He's figured out how to close his eyes for camera flashes, as you'll see. He gets this from his mother. I've got photo album after photo album of mom looking stoned. "The sins of the MOTHER . . .. " as they say.
Again, seriously - what is the kid thinking?
This one's not so bad.
But this one is.
If y'all understood how happy this thing makes him, this picture wouldn't be nearly so goofy.
We got Colin his first pair of 'big boy' shoes this weekend. Here he is bundled up to go out yesterday. Mommy's so proud that the hat matches the sweater, which coordintes with the shoes so nicely.
You thought I was kidding? Look at that smile. "Coordination is what separates us from the monkeys.'
As promised, a few more shots from the Wisconsin game. Again, amazing view.
Offense breaking the huddle.
K - that's all I've got for now. Hope to post more regularly. Thanks for stopping by! Stay classy.

Rubbin' Elbows with the Upper Crust

As many regular readers know, thanks to R + L Trucklines, and the good fortune to have great friends in high places, this dirtybutt Mc, yours truly, was lucky enough to get tickets to a private box at the 'Football Venue that God (Woody Hayes) Most Favors', aka Ohio Stadium. Not only was it a Big 10 game, but a Big 10 game THAT MATTERED. Ohio State vs. Wisconsin. Here are the first cut of the 150 + pictures that I took.

First, the sun rises on the South stands.
Jon and Rob at Rob's regular tailgate, right across from the stadium. Rob's gonna own a bar in Mt. Adams soon . . . .

Jon, debating stealing a bit of Government Property. As a taxpayer, it's debatable as to whether or not he's entitled . . .
The view from the box. Early first quarter.
Me & Jon, in the box.

T - I think the fine folks at Memorial Stadium would have folks like us (on any weekday . . . ).
OK, obviously we're on our best behavior. Clearly, *I'd* get kicked out of Memorial Stadium. Hell, almost did that in 2002 . . .
Robyn Warbel, this picture is for Ryan. Maybe the boy should consider transferring to OSU? The Best Damn Band In The Land knows the theme to Superman . . .

Me - seconds before they realized that a lowlife made it into the VIP leagues.
THE BEST DAMN BAND IN THE LAND. Ohio Stadium, after the game, in all her glory.
A fan - post game.
NO, THAT'S NOT FERRIGAN, T. It's a random guy celebrating another Buckeye victory.
Jon.
'sall for now. Like I said, I took over 150 pictures - there's a whole lot of redundant stuff in that count. This is just a sample.

Let me just say that I've been to Ohio Stadium at least ten times; I've been to Jordan-Hare Stadium at Auburn, Williams-Bryce Stadium at USC many times, Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge on many occasions; the Georgia Dome for a Peach Bowl; Death Valley at Clemson (granted, it was for a graduation); Memorial Stadium at Illinois twice; I've visited Lane Stadium at Virginia Tech, Scott Stadium at UVa; Neyland Stadium at Tennessee; Keenan Stadium at UNC; Carter-Finley Stadium at NC State; Wallace Wade Stadium at Duke; and Moutaineer Field at WVU.

I've watched more football over my life than I can care to explain.

Sitting in this private box at Ohio Stadium was the best football experience I've ever had.

Period.

Bar none.

Thank you, R + L; Thank you, Jon!

T - GATE '06 PIX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow, just got an e-mail from Cousin Tonya about pix from T-Gate '06. Here's a few of those that made me laugh.

For those not in the know, T-Gate is Tonya's bi-annual Ohio State/ Illinois tailgate in Champoo-Banana, Illinois. We're expecting about 2,300 in '08.

These are in no semblance of logical order - here's Ben, T, and Anthony, on the "Greatest Day of His Life".
Ben, wishing that our child is a masculine child. Clearly, he's got the touch.
Mary, with Jan Gregor (I think).
Me, before the kegstand.
Me, right after my weak kegstand.
T, Jeep Kochan, and Illibuck Trophy. Mollie's in the background, acting a fool.
Ben, Illibuck, T, Mollie and Murray there in the background.
Mollie and Stacey playin' cornhole - Memorial Stadium is there to the right.
Jeep, Ben and T in the stands at Memorial Stadium after the narrow Buckeye victory.

Friday Halloweenblogging

Day late and a dollar short. No sleepblogging this week - posted all my recent shots the other day. But, I do have the Halloween shots. Before we get to the festivities, here are a few more of Jr and Grandpa from his visit. He really cut the tar out of himself.
Now, on to the Halloween. For his first Halloween, Grandma Sammie got him this punkin outfit. At first, he was not very pleased. Once people came and started fawning over him, he changed his tune.
"I'm NOT happy!"
The setup. We had 60 fullsize candy bars, and several pounds of the little ones. Gave 'em all away.
This one is my favorite.
My costume. 'course, the Canes went and lost later that night 4-2. $*$&%*##&$$*&
Here he is with Cayden and Dan. They cleaned up, and Denny was able to get a fresh beer.
Here's another great one - Kelson and Colin. They're best buds. Isn't that costume the cutest thing you've ever seen?
More trick or treaters Liam and Grace stop by.
Now he's starting to get excited.
And there you have it - Colin's first trick or treat. He seemed to enjoy it. Can't wait 'til next year when he can go door to door and collect us some candy.
Seein's how it's Friday, might as well indulge in Mary's favorite - Random 11.
  1. "Facet Squared" - Fugazi
  2. "On the Day" - Rollins Band
  3. "Delta Lady" - Joe Cocker
  4. "Struggle for Jive" - Urban Dance Squad
  5. "Caught In a Mosh" - Anthrax
  6. "Brand New Day" - Van Morrison
  7. "Renovation" - Helmet
  8. "Sunday Bloody Sunday" - U2
  9. "2+2=5 (The Lukewarm.)" - Radiohead
  10. "Who Tends the Fire" - Overkill
  11. "Leeches" - Naked Raygun

I might be the biggest dork in the Western Hemisphere. At least my Fantasy Hockey team is doing well . . . did I just type that?
