Catching up / sleepblogging redux

It's been too long - we've been 'summer busy', if you know what I mean.

I do have a few shots for them Morgantown Warbels especially: here's Colin opening up the Batcave - his favorite gift from his third birthday (next to Grandpa Ferrigan's excavator):
He did eventually get the present open - here he is mid-play while Daddy acts goofy:
A bit of video to say "Thank You!" to everyone in Morgantown:

Thank you all so much for all of the Batman toys - he's really enjoyed them immensely. I mean, hours of play that don't abate any time soon.
On to the sleepblogging redux. Grandpa Ferrigan came up for a visit this past weekend, and so he slept in Colin's bed and Colin slept in Olive's bed. I was a bit concerned about it, because usually, if Olive doesn't have a place to sleep, she ends up kicking *me* out of my spot, and I end up sleeping on the couch downstairs. Plus, I was worried that she'd somehow bother Colin or wake him up, or some such Olive-related typical nonsense.
Turns out I was partially right. Here's what happened:
That's right - our crazy dog decided to go a different way. She decided to use our son as a pillow on "her" bed. To her credit, she figured out a way to climb up into "her" bed without squishing/waking up Colin, and managed to spread her 140lbs out comfortably enough to start sawing logs - without waking Colin or me or Mommy up. I don't know about you, but that falls within the parameters of my definition of "good dog". Watch dog? Not so much, but good dog nonetheless.
The final touch on our revisit to sleepblogging days - last Saturday Mary took the kids to the pool while Grandpa and I looked at cars (Pete Rose edition Camaro, FTW), and Colin had so much fun, he was barely able to stay awake through dinner. Here he is falling asleep before we headed out for Mexican:
I've got video of us waking him up for dinner. It's not terribly exciting, but if you're interested let me know.

Tres, Troi, Drei

So, these are probably out of order, but Colin turned three yesterday, and here's some pix and video from the occasion:

First up, later in the evening, Colin's playing with his slot car track:
Another shot of Colin with his track:
We all had hot dogs and Mac 'n Cheese in honor of his birthday.

iPoddage

Sorry all - overdue again. We've been busy as the weather's been getting nicer.

Here's a few shots to tide you over - Emma let Colin listen to her iPod a few weeks back. Joy ensued.

Trip to the portrait studio

So we took the kids to the portrait studio yesterday, and they had a blast. These are just a few of the 108 shots that they ended up taking. I think they did a really good job. This place up in one of the strip malls did an hour shoot, took muliple poses and props, printed the ones we wanted immediately and gave us a CD with all the pix for $100. Not bad.

This first pose was the last picture of the day, and the pose was Emma's idea:
This was one I wanted. Colin's touching Emma's new nose ring.
The photographer really got the boy to ham it up.
This shot is for Grandpa Ferrigan:
Good ones of Emma too:
The group ones were good as well.
I'll try and get the rest of them up on Flickr later this week. Hope you enjoy them as much as we did!

Thanks for stopping by. Stay classy.

Just a smidge

Sorry gang - we've been busy - haven't done a posting in a reasonable amount of time. Here's a few things to tide you over. I've got more pix from Colin's first bowling experience on the way as well . . .

First up - the weather's getting better, so we've busted out the swimming pool toys . . .
He's playing coy for some reason.
The one good shot of Grandpa Ferrigan with the kids:
Colin 'helped' Emma clean her room recently, to hilarious results:
I've got some video to put up from the cleaning experience - have it up later this week . . .

It's been a while

Well, since Emma's moved back to Ohio, we've been busier than a one-legged man in a butt kicking contest.

Fortunately, we've captured quite a few photos, and these are just from my camera. Emma's been snapping more pictures that we can keep up with, so I'll have even more stuff to offer.

First up, Colin finally got his big boy bed two weeks ago. We did some rearranging as a result. He loves the new bed, and actually, you know, stays in it each night, so bonus.
Mary bought the boy a Lightning McQueen umbrella a few weeks back. Here's some of the shots of that night:
Grandma Sammie sent Colin and Emma some presents last week - the boy's going over his haul:
Emma and Colin, just goofin'
Grandpa Ferrigan came to town on Thursday, so Friday night we went down to Northside and had dinner with Mollie, Paul and Ruby at Boswell Alley:
And here's a little video to go along with things. First up, my children - behaving like my children:

Next, Colin bouncin' round the couch:

Lastly, Colin bouncin' round his big boy bed:

That's all for now - more to come shortly. Thanks for stopping by. Stay classy.
