Loyalty

Don't know if this is a uniquely midwestern thing or not, but we're loyal to our teams here. When we were in Raleigh, and the first professional team moved to Raleigh, the Hurricanes (nee Hartford Whalers), Mary, Emma and I were on board. And they were terrible.
BUT, the first year we moved from Raleigh, the 'Canes went to the Stanley Cup Finals. And Lost. To the Detroit Red Wings. But we persevered. We Loved Our Canes!!! And in 2006, they WON THE STANLEY CUP!!!!!!!!! Below is the framed picture from the Raleigh News & Observer that hangs in our ground floor bathroom:
We LOVE the Canes. We got NHL Center Ice last season, and will get it every season from now on - TO SEE THE CANES ( and the Columbus Blue Jackets to a lesser degree - we're homers if nothing else . . . ) FROM NOW ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyway, that's a long way to go to explain how happy I was when Mommy brought Jr. home his first Cincinnati Reds outfit, pictured below.

Yousee, as a kid, growing up in Dayton, OH, in the 1970's, the Cincinnati Reds were THE GREATEST THING EVER.

PERIOD.

Johnny Bench, Pete Rose, Joe Morgan, Tony Perez, Dave Concepcion, George Foster, Ken Griffey, Cesar Geronimo. I remember my first Reds game in 1975 to this day.

Anyway, to see Jr. in his first Reds outfit made Daddy so very happy.

Go Colin & Emma. Go Reds. Go Bucks. Go Canes. Go Jackets.
