More Christmas '09

Well, we're just tryin' all kinds of new stuff this weekend. Finally get back to posting and go all nutso, huh?

For this batch, I uploaded everything to Flickr. There were 71 in the batch, so I figured that scrolling through that would have been a nightmare. SO - to see all of the present openin' goodness, click on Jr's picture there below, and check it all out at Flickr.

If for some reason, you can't get to the slideshow over on Flickr, just let me know and I'll figure something out.

Finally, in order to save those pictures once there, click on the "i" that pops up in the middle of the screen, and you'll see a link in the lower left hand corner that says "view photo page". A new window will open, and you should be able to save the photo from that new window.

Enjoy!

We're baaaaaack

Well, after a 17-day hiatus, we're back. I'd been in solidarity with my bretheren, and honoring the Writer's Guild strike, you see. It's all about brotherhood in the Guild. (Does this post make me a scab?)

OK, that's total BS. Actually, we've just been running non-stop since the start of the year, travelling back South, and cursing our favorite teams in person. We saw the Canes lose to the Jackets in person over Christmas, next it was off to New Orleans to see our beloved Buckeyes lose to LSU, and then last weekend, I was in Raleigh, and took Emma, Kasi and a couple of their friends to see the Canes blow a 4-2 lead by giving the Avalanche three goals in the third period. SO - we're done going to sporting events for a while, clearly.

ANYWAY, now I'm sick as a dog, and am able to sit still long enough to actually do a posting. Apologies, and thank you for checking in with us. Now on with the main event:
Jr. with Grandpa's handiwork.
Emma, kickin' it Old School in her Run DMC t-shirt, feeding the boy.
If he actually grows up and 'plays for the other team', you'll all know why. THIS HAT.
Gay.
Seriously, teh gay.
These are a few good shots of the boy.
Mollie and Grandpa trying to show him all the toy-related-awesomeness.
Finally, Jr. with bendy Woody Hayes, the coolest toy in the world.
So there you have it. Lots more to come over the weekend. We're not doing a bloody thing but chillaxin'. (h/t Greg)

Merry Chritma / Happy Birthday Emma

Well, I've got about 200 pictures to sort through when we get back from Morgantown. Christmas was a rousing success. Emma even got a few things that she's not snuck and found ahead of time. We're gettign ready to leave Morgantown as I type, so I should hopefully have some stuff up either tonight or tomorrow.

Merry Xmas and Happy Birtday Emma!

Thanksgiving Overdue For A Post Blogging / sleepblogging, sorta

Another week, another "crimeney, I'm WAY overdue for a post" moment. Despite the fact it was a four day weekend, we ran nonstop, with Emma making a surprise visit. So, without further adieu, Colin says, "quitcherbitchin, pops is gettin' to it when he can!!!!!".

At least that's what that shot there says to me.
First up, a few Jumperoo shots.
He was smiling when I went to shoot this.
Next up, got these wonderful shots on Thanksgiving day. My favorites to date!
As some of y'all may know, we made the sage decision to have our new kitchen / bathroom floors installed the week of Thanksgiving. Awesome move on our part. Sorry to Ben the Installer for all the troubles, but Thank You for the wonderful work. These shots were taken the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. In case it's not clear, the dishwasher, fridge and oven all had to be taken out of the kitchen to do the install.
That's the hall where the fridge stands, and in the background, the oven is in the living room.
This picture of the bathroom is screaming for some kind of crass comment. But I'm not going to make it.
Where the dishwasher and fridge would normally be.
Ben was here 'til 12:30 finishing the grout on Thursday AM. We moved the appliances back into place later that morning, and got to cooking. It all came together, no one went hungry, and it was a splendid Thanksgiving.
Here is Paul's daughter, Ruby, with Olive on Thanksgiving. She really put that whole "My gawd, your dog is a horse!" meme we always hear to the test. It was adorable.
"I love you, doggy."
If it's not obvious, she's seesawing on Olive's back there.
Jr. has begun to sit up in longer stretches these days.
"Hey, look at me! I'm sittin' up!"
Ok, like I said, "started".
And back upright again.
Here he is earlier tonight, with the help of the boppy. He can go for quite a while in that thing.
A bit of sleepblogging thrown in, just for safe measure.
Here's Colin after we gave him is first taste of taters on his first Thanksgiving. Not a fan.
Yet.
Gotta get the obligatory shot of the lovely table. If I didn't, boss would kill me.
Paul, Ruby, Colin and Mollie on Thanksgiving.
Yonk and June, photographed by Emma.
Colin, June and Emma.
Jr, before taters.

So there you go. Week late, and many dollars short. I'd say I'm gonna work all hard to get to posting more frequently, but let's face it - it's probably not gonna happen. Mary starts a new job a week from today, so that's just going to complicate things. Doing the best I can, tho! More later.
PS - GO SOONERS, BEAT Mizzou.
PPS - Thank you, Razorbacks, for beating LSU.
PPPS - RIP, Kevin DuBrow. What is the world coming to when the lead singer of Quiet Riot is dead at 52? It's like the heavy metal lifestyle is dangerous or something. Oh, wait . . .

This post has it all - Sleepblogging, Emma, Random 11, and TEH EXERSAUCER

My goodness, we've been "busier'n a one legged man in a butt-kicking contest", as 'ol Flo used to say. Emma's been in town, so we've been running all over creation, among other things.

Without further adieu, here's the thing that keeps y'all checking in every Friday:

SLEEPBLOGGING!!!!!!

In this week's edition, he's either thinking real hard of a number between 1 and 100, warming up to use his mad psychic skillz, or preparing to part the Red Sea. Either way, he's sleeping, we're blogging, hence, sleepblogging.

Next up are some shots of Emma's first meeting with her brother at the airport. It was love at first sight (right before I made her change a diaper).

Kidding - I waited.

Notice Olive hornin' in on the action: I've used the time-honored John Warbel (Jr.) method of coercing Emma into changing diapers: "You know, one of the best ways to bond with your brother would be to change his diaper . . ." It's worked a few times.
This week, Colin has discovered drooling (he loves it), and the 'ol Bronx Cheer - does it all the time. *I* consider this to be real progress toward becoming a full-fledged boy, Mama ain't necessarily so sure.
Above: "PPppppphhhhhhhppppttttt!!!!!!!!!!"
OK, honestly, I can't explain the deal with Jr's hair. It's a cross between Mao Tse Tung, and Winston Churchill, with a budding mullet in the back. In the above shot, his hair makes him look like he's been on some kind of wicked bender or something. I've taken to calling him SeƱor pelo loco, so as to help him with other languages and whatnot. The next two shots just further illustrate the point:
The other development this week is that he's REALLY begun to smile - A LOT. Funny thing is, if he's in the midst of a real happy period, and I drag out either the camera or the camcorder, he goes mum. Clams up like Alberto Gonzales on the stand. I managed to get these two - but they're not really representative, sadly.

He looks more goofy than happy - but trust me, he was all smiles yesterday for a while.

In other developments, I picked the boy up a new super-phantasmagorical, must-have toy, the Baby Einstein "Exersaucer", pictured below. When we were up at Mary's cousin's house a few weeks ago, their son Lucas loved his, so we figured Colin has to have one. He's a bit too small for it just yet, but in another couple of weeks - it's gonna be Exersaucer city, baby.
Also, Colin spent a few hours this week with Ms. Jenna, who will be watching him for us during the week when I go back to work. It was wonderful for all - pictures from that to come as well.

Finally, Mary's favorite tradition here at colinferrigan.blogspot.com, Friday Random 11. Let's see if we can keep it mostly respectable again this week. I finally uploaded a bunch of songs from Tonya's iPod, so the chances are fairly good:

1) "Back in Black" - AC/DC
2) "Paralysed" - Gang of Four
3) "Only" - Anthrax
4) "Foxey Lady" - Jimi Hendrix
5) "Positively 4th Street" - Bob Dylan
6) "Fooligan" - Diesel Boy
7) "Talkback" - Stiff Little Fingers
8) "Signs" - Tesla
9) "Crystal Wrists" - Peter Murphy
10) "No Class" - Motorhead
11) "I AM A BUCKEYE FAN" - Sleepy Rappers

So there you have it. T - you made it in there three times. Not bad. Until next week . . . .
